Everyone wants to look fabulous over the festive period, whether it’s a pre-Christmas lunch, a stylish cocktail party or visiting relatives on the big day!

We’ve picked out some hot trends that are going to be big news this Christmas that will flatter, inspire and make you look and feel great throughout.

We wouldn’t feel the same about Christmas without the Little Black Dress and this year’s no different. There are lots of fabulous styles around from strapless prom dresses, to understated tunics to sequinned and feathered little numbers that definitely have the wow factor!  The most important thing to remember is dressing for your style and shape. 

If you know that you’ll feel uncomfortable in a short, strappy dress then go for something a little more substantial like a one-shoulder knee length dress which still has bags of sex appeal but won’t leave you feeling self conscious.  On the other hand, don’t be afraid to be a little bold, remember you can always team a short dress with black opaque tights, or pop a cute shrug over a strapless number and still look a million dollars.

We’re also seeing some gorgeous dresses this year in a variety of bold, deep colours.  Damsons, plums and clarets reflect the time of year beautifully and are truly stunning for seasonal parties, nights out and drinks before dinner.  Keep accessories and jewellery muted to avoid overdoing it and let the dress do the talking. 

Thinking about trousers for a big night out?  How about some black trapeze trousers with stiletto heels and a sequin top.  Instantly stylish and very chic, all you need to complete the look is a simple clutch and a black beaded cuff bangle.

If you’re looking for an outfit with a cool edge, why not try some satin skinny trousers with platform heels and a sleek halterneck top.  Add a tiny silver bag and chandelier ear-rings and you’re done.

Remember too that the finishing touch to any Christmas outfit is a fabulous grooming and beauty regime. Waxing, exfoliating and applying a touch of fake tan will ensure glowing skin, whilst perfectly groomed nails really do make a difference to your finished look.

What about the big day itself??  Can you be comfortable, stylish, chic and bang on trend all in one go?? Of course! We love this season’s slouch trousers, practical, gorgeous and flattering, they look stylish but not overdone, and are perfect for Christmas day teamed with a pussy bow blouse, and some mid height heels.  Or you could try some wide leg jeans and a sumptuous cashmere knit for understated festive chic that you’ll feel comfortable in all day.

If dresses are your thing, a simple tunic dress that falls just below the knee with some black opaque tights and chunky heels is the perfect answer for a cool look that’s so easy to wear.

There’s nothing quite like a fabulous coat to finish off an outfit, and this year there are hundreds to choose from, a classic thigh length funnel neck coat is flattering for all shapes while a cape coat with brass buttons is the shape to be seen in.  Look out for details like a large bow tie collar or a funky check print to bring the look bang up to date.  A great coat is a must have investment and one worth spending a little extra on.
